Why Low Spinney
Broadview Energy has undertaken a review across the East Midlands for suitable locations for modest wind turbine developments of between two and ten turbines.
The land near Gilmorton was identified, amongst others, as being potentially suitable for a number of reasons:
- Good wind resource (based on publicly available data)
- Sufficient land for a modest scheme set away from properties
- Sufficiently distant from areas of local or national ecological or landscape significance
- Robust local electrical system to enable electricity generated to be distributed through the National Grid
- Good access to the regional/ national road transport system
- Scope for farm diversification
- Sufficiently distant from major civilian or military airfields and radar installations to avoid impact on their operations
Further detailed studies and consultations will be undertaken to verify these assumptions.
